Fossils are easier to come by than most think. You won't be finding yourself with a T-Rex skull in your living room anytime soon, but many marine fossils are plentiful and you can even get your hands on smaller teeth from some pretty nasty predators. I've spent more hours than I care to admit finding fossil sources - some good, some not so good. Luckily, most sellers of basic fossils are now using Amazon as a distribution channel. Fossil supplies aren't infinite, so the suppliers come and go. On this page I'll post links to fossils from reputable sources - many of which I've purchased myself (or purchased from the same supplier) and can vouch for the quality. I'll try to keep this page updated as supplies come and go.
A good sampling of common fossils for a good price. If you are using these for a dig, recommend one kit per child participating in the dig.

A small box of common marine fossils. You won't get a lot of high quality specimens, maybe 10 or 12 okay fossils that are 'dig worthy' but the rest could be used as decorations for making a nice fossil themed stepping stone for the garden.

Highly recommended as the crown jewel of a fossil dig. Nothing inspires the imagination like a good large carnivorous dinosaur and here's an opportunity to own a tooth from a Spinosaurus! These teeth are actually pretty common, so you won't need to take out an extra mortgage to own one. Still - pretty cool to own an real fossilizes tooth from such an awe inspiring animal.

Nice quality small fish fossil. One of the few options to have a complete skeleton of a more complex animal. You won't be able to dig the fossil out of the matrix - though I've still used them in a dig. Makes a nice display specimen.

Ever since Jurassic Park came out the kinds have had a bit of a fascination with amber. These specimens have bugs embedded in the amber and we were able to get out a microscope and examine the little critters.

A polished ammonite cut in half so you can see the chambers. I liked these because the were polished enough to be really nice to look at but not so polished that they look more like a jewelry than a fossil.

Fossilicious.com is a great source for reasonably priced, but interesting and high quality fossils. The good folks that run the site are helpful and knowledgeable and great to work with. If you are looking for something special for your dinosaur day, maybe a good Pterosaur tooth or an egg shell, this is a great source.
